ArtClash - Paint Draw & Sketch

Draw, paint, and share creations with others. A work-in-progress/ early access project. More features coming soon.

ArtClash is designed to inspire daily practice in drawing, sketching, and cartooning.

It's a project in development, with the first game mode complete and more on the way.

You can freely draw anything or select a topic—or a series of topics—add optional constraints like time limits, color limits, or canvas size, create your artwork, and earn points when others guess it correctly!

This is a solo project, created for my wife and me to practice daily and to encourage others to do the same.

Current features:

• Paint - Sketch, Paint, and Blend

• Import images to use as references or paint over them

• Select topics and constraints, draw them, and earn points for every correct guess

• 6 difficulty levels for topics—from single words to up to 5 different words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)

• Choose from 3 constraints for extra points: time, colors, or canvas size

• Freely draw anything you like and share it with the community

• NSFW filter, so you can opt to view other users' images marked as NSFW

Current early access issues/ Bugs:

• Basic UI: The Unity UI has been challenging; plans are to replace it with XAML for better responsiveness and performance

• On lower-end devices, try keeping canvases under 1024x1024. The GPU-accelerated brush engine can slow down with large canvases and small brushes. We plan to test other engines for comparison and will implement a significantly faster solution.

Upcoming features:

• More games (starting with a drawing "telephone" game)

• Enhanced social features (custom avatars, comments on uploaded projects or completed games, friending, and following)

• Improved UI and a faster brush engine (addressing the above issues)

• Marquee selection tool and transform tool

• Additional brushes (the system supports custom brush textures; we'll add more and allow users to create and share their own)

• Advanced layer system (currently you can create layers; future updates will include locking transparent pixels, masking, etc.)

• Developer communication system: A feedback hub for feature requests, bug reports, and community voting on upcoming changes

• Moderators: Community members can be promoted to moderate flagged content and address issues

• Topic and constraint submissions: Users can submit ideas for topics and constraints, which will be added to the lists after moderation

• Future goals include full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/ storyboard prototyping tools.

Due to current performance considerations with large textures and the absence of a complete editing suite, this app is presently optimized for social competition and encouragement rather than being a full-scale image editor.
