Alexa Plus Now Available on Select Echo Show Devices

By JackJun 23,2025

There's a new voice in town — and it's powered by generative AI. Meet *Alexa+*, the upgraded version of Amazon’s popular voice assistant. Designed to deliver more natural, fluid conversations, Alexa+ is built to be smarter, more personalized, and more helpful in your daily life. As Amazon puts it: “Alexa+ is more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done.”

Currently, Alexa+ is available in an Early Access phase on select Echo Show models — specifically the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen), Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), Echo Show 15, and Echo Show 21. If you own or are planning to purchase one of these devices, you can be among the first to experience this next-generation voice assistant. Want to stay updated about availability? Thanks to its enhanced conversational flow, Alexa+ allows users to ask follow-up questions naturally and engage in multi-turn dialogues without repeating commands. Whether you're managing your to-do list, checking calendar details, booking a table at a restaurant, or just having a casual chat, Alexa+ aims to make interactions feel more human-like. Plus, Amazon continues to roll out updates regularly, meaning even more features and improvements are expected after the initial release.

Compatibility & Future Expansion

At this time, Alexa+ is not compatible with older Echo models such as the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen — those devices will continue using the standard Alexa experience. However, Amazon has confirmed plans to expand Alexa+ support to additional platforms soon, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and the web-based Alexa.com, making it more accessible across a wider range of devices and environments.
