Atomic Heart 2 is under development at Mundfish, as announced during Summer Game Fest. The studio also introduced The CUBE, a new multiplayer RPG shooter set within the Atomic Heart universe.
A new trailer debuted today, offering a first glimpse of Atomic Heart 2, currently in progress for PC and consoles. Like its predecessor, it’s an action-adventure FPS with RPG elements, set in a retrofuturistic alternate-history world. Designed as a utopia for humans and their robotic companions, the world spirals into chaos as advanced robotics and AI turn hostile, threatening society’s collapse. Players step in to prevent humanity’s downfall.
The CUBE, set in the same universe but years later, revolves around a mysterious giant floating cube. Its arrival triggers bizarre and unsettling events, and players must venture inside to uncover its secrets and save humanity from its dangers. The CUBE is a multiplayer RPG shooter slated for PC and consoles.
The original Atomic Heart, released in 2023, earned an 8/10 from IGN: "Atomic Heart is a wildly ambitious, visually striking, and consistently impressive atompunk-inspired effort to follow in BioShock’s footsteps – and it succeeds remarkably well," the review stated.
Last week, Mundfish announced that Atomic Heart has exceeded 10 million players. The game has seen several DLC releases since launch, with one more still in development.
