Avowed Celebrates First Month with Major Update and Enhanced Features

Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios have released a celebratory new trailer for Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of the action-RPG, showcasing select reviews and quotes from gaming journalists.

This latest update introduces DLSS 4 support, encompassing Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. These advancements significantly boost performance; NVIDIA showcased a potential three-fold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, achieving up to 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding future support and a game roadmap are promised in the coming weeks.

Beyond the technical enhancements, this update also improves the player experience. Players now earn an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards for those already progressing. Keyboard and mouse users gain the ability to toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature allows for increased font sizes in in-game text, documents, and guides.

While not universally lauded, Avowed received strong reviews, with Digital Foundry even hailing it as a technical "triumph," further cementing its position as a notable Obsidian title.
