Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming title, Battledom, currently in Alpha testing. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's successful 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom offers dynamic RTS combat, allowing players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Engage enemies from afar, manually controlling siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance gameplay, adding a layer of tactical depth.
Players earn coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is essential. Players must collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at the blacksmith, magician, or other specialized crafters.
Frenken's Herodom enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating, featuring over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customizations, crops, and farm animals.
