This infinite archive supposedly contains every possible combination of letters, meaning every book ever written (and every possible variation) exists somewhere within its boundless shelves.

You awaken here with no memory of your arrival, joining a colorful cast of equally confused characters. Apparently, you're destined for greatness - but there's one small problem: a massive spinning orb will exterminate everyone within 24 hours. Welcome to your new role as Seer! Hope you enjoy literary labyrinths.

Beneath the eccentric premise lies a genuinely fascinating setting. Between the nonsense-filled tomes, time-bending mechanics, and mythological references (we won't spoil that suspicious bird), the game embraces its surreal nature. The narrative happily throws you into the deep end - if you're confused, that's entirely the point.

Gameplay Mechanics

Black Beacon blends dungeon-crawling action with flexible camera controls. Choose between top-down perspective or free camera mode (our preference) where you manually adjust the view with your off-hand.

Progress unfolds through episodic chapters, each containing multiple maps. While accessing levels consumes energy, the system feels generous in our experience. You'll explore maze-like corridors, solve puzzles, hunt hidden chests, and battle twisted creatures - remnants of people the Library "hasn't fully digested." Charming.

Combat hits a sweet spot between accessibility and challenge. While button-mashing works, perfect dodges grant invincibility frames, and well-timed heavy attacks interrupt enemy telegraphed moves. The character-swap mechanic elevates battles into a tactical tag-team affair - bench exhausted fighters mid-combo to unleash fresh allies, creating satisfying combat flow... until that mistimed dodge sends you flying across the room.

Gacha System & Progression

As a gacha game, Black Beacon features character and weapon pulls, with specific weapons pairing to certain heroes. Both can be leveled using various upgrade materials - thankfully, much of the grinding can be automated.

You'll likely acquire characters through gacha before encountering them in-story - a narrative quirk handwaved by timey-wimey shenanigans. This system effectively expands team composition options during early gameplay.
