Bloomtown: A Different Story is now available on mobile.
Explore the charming 1960s town during your summer break.
And save the world by fighting demons!
The JRPG genre has long been home to a handful of cult classics that shaped modern storytelling. Titles like Mother (known as Earthbound in the West) or the Shin Megami Tensei Persona series come to mind. What happens when you blend the two? You get Bloomtown: A Different Story—out now on mobile.
This pixel-art JRPG drew widespread attention upon its initial release last year. Now, mobile players can dive in and discover why it sparked such excitement. Set in the quiet, sun-dappled town of Bloomtown, you step into the shoes of Emily, who travels with her brother for what’s meant to be a peaceful summer vacation.
But nothing is as it appears. When local children begin vanishing, Emily and her friends must uncover the dark truth behind the town’s idyllic surface. With a sinister demonic realm rising beneath its cheerful veneer, stopping the horror won’t be easy.
Bloomin’ hell!
The parallels to Persona and Mother aren’t just hype—they’re real. As you wander the nostalgic 1960s streets of Bloomtown, you’ll experience the child’s-eye view of supernatural threats that adults ignore or deny. And you’ll also engage in deep, turn-based battles reminiscent of Persona.
To combat the encroaching darkness, you’ll summon your own inner demons, tame creatures from the Underside, and pit them against their former masters. All while soaking in the charm of Bloomtown—trying to enjoy your summer break as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
Bloomtown could be the perfect gateway into the JRPG world. If you’re hooked, why not explore more? Check out our list of the best RPGs on Android for your next adventure.
