Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam encourages remaining players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement, the game's two-year early access period and inconsistent content updates led to player attrition. The demanding shard collection system, requiring significant time or in-game spending to fully upgrade characters, also contributed to its challenges. However, the game's character designs were consistently praised for their creativity and visual appeal.
The Unexpected Announcement
The EOS announcement is particularly surprising given the recent addition of new story content and Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first instance of abruptly ending a game; Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off also faced premature shutdowns.
