If, like me, the animation in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse left you in awe and made you reconsider your life choices while studios like BUCK consistently deliver masterpieces (think Love, Death + Robots and Secret Level), you'll be thrilled to learn that this award-winning animation and design company is now venturing into game development.
BUCK has officially announced the launch of its new game development branch, BUCK Games, which coincides with the debut of Netflix Games' The Electric State: Kid Cosmo. This game serves as an interactive extension of the film, offering players a unique gaming experience tied to the cinematic universe.
This isn't BUCK's first venture into gaming, though. They previously released Let’s! Revolution!, a colorful roguelite puzzle game. With over two decades of experience in animation and design, and clients like Apple, Riot Games, and Microsoft, BUCK is well-positioned to bring high-quality gaming experiences to mobile platforms through its new BUCK Games branch.
“Developing a game connected to a larger world was a new challenge, and demanded adaptability and ingenuity from our team,” says Michael Highland, Creative Director of BUCK Games. “We set out with an ambitious, unconventional vision, and our partners pushed us to make it the best version possible.”
