Catch Mastery Event: First Bird Pokémon Lands in Pokémon GO!

Pokémon GO enthusiasts have a thrilling lineup of events to look forward to, including the exciting Catch Mastery event. Alongside the ongoing Festival of Colors and the Might and Mastery events, the Catch Mastery event adds even more excitement to the mix.

Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!

Mark your calendars for March 16th, as the Catch Mastery event kicks off from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. This event spotlights Archen, the First Bird Pokémon, giving players a chance to encounter this fascinating creature. During the event, you’ll see increased wild spawns of Omanyte and Kabuto, with the added thrill of possibly encountering their Shiny versions.

Archen isn’t just appearing in the wild; it’s also up for grabs as a Field Research reward, with a boosted chance of finding its Shiny variant. To sweeten the deal, the event offers enticing XP bonuses, doubling the XP for Nice Throws or better, and for Curveball Throws, helping you level up faster.

For those eager to dive deeper, the event features Timed Research centered around catching Rock-type Pokémon. Challenge yourself to complete up to 10 sets of tasks, which will reward you with a total of 40 Archen encounters, enhancing your Pokémon collection.

The Mega Absol Raid Day Is Also Happening Soon

Following closely, the Mega Absol Raid Day is set for March 23rd, running from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This event introduces a new Charged Attack for Absol—Brutal Swing. Once the event starts, Absol will permanently gain this powerful move, delivering 55 power in Trainer Battles and a whopping 65 power in gyms and raids.

In preparation for the event, from March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be temporarily bumped up to 20. Moreover, you can snag up to five additional free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs, giving you a total of six for the day, ensuring you're well-equipped for the raids.
