"Deadlock Update: Calico Nerfed, Sinclair Reworked"

By ZoeApr 18,2025

Valve keeps the surprises coming with yet another update for Deadlock, and this time, it's a compact yet impactful one, touching four heroes. Calico has faced a significant nerf, particularly to her Return to Shadows ability, which now has a ten-second longer cooldown and has seen 20% of its speed shifted to T2. Additionally, the damage output from T2 Leaping Slash has been dialed back, affecting her overall effectiveness in combat.

Sinclair, on the other hand, has undergone a transformation with updated sounds and animations, and his Rabbit Hex ability has evolved into an Area of Effect (AoE) skill, potentially changing his strategic value in team compositions. Both Holliday and Wraith have also been nerfed, though specifics on their adjustments remain under wraps.

The update didn't stop at heroes; items saw changes too. Ammo Scavenger now provides fewer stacks and no longer offers a health bonus, while Extra Stamina and Restorative Shot have lost their bonuses to Fire Rate and Weapon Damage, respectively, which could shift player strategies and item builds.

This marks the fifth update for Deadlock in 2025 and the first for February. Valve has shifted its approach to game development, moving away from a fixed patch schedule to releasing updates as needed. Today's update is a testament to this new strategy, ensuring that changes are implemented when they're most relevant and impactful for the player base.
