In a statement to Eurogamer, the developer confirmed its independent publishing strategy, noting that this decision was previously announced during a public earnings call. While acknowledging and appreciating its business partners, the company emphasized its ongoing discussions regarding various forms of collaboration.

A playable build of Crimson Desert will be showcased to media this week in Paris, followed by a public demonstration at G-Star in November. Pearl Abyss also clarified that no official release date has been set, dismissing any articles speculating otherwise.

September investor meetings revealed Sony's attempt to secure Crimson Desert as a PS5 exclusive, potentially excluding Xbox for a period. However, Pearl Abyss opted for self-publishing, anticipating greater profitability.

While a final platform list and launch date remain unannounced, a PC, PlayStation, and Xbox release is anticipated around Q2 2025.
