Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Horror-Themed Vote and Community Concerns
Destiny 2 players will soon have the chance to vote on new, horror-themed armor sets for the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie has unveiled two options: "Slashers" and "Spectres," each featuring designs inspired by iconic horror villains and urban legends.
This year's Halloween event pits terrifying designs against each other. The "Slashers" category offers Titan and Hunter armor clearly inspired by Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Ghostface (Scream), respectively, with Warlocks receiving a menacing Scarecrow set. The "Spectres" option, conversely, transforms Titans into the Babadook, Hunters into La Llorona, and Warlocks into Slenderman.
While the reveal of these exciting new armor sets has generated buzz, it's been overshadowed by growing concerns within the Destiny 2 community. Many players express frustration over persistent bugs and a noticeable decline in player engagement throughout Episode Revenant. Issues such as broken tonics and other gameplay glitches, though largely addressed by Bungie, have contributed to a sense of negativity surrounding the game's current state.
The announcement of the Festival of the Lost armor sets, ten months in advance, has further fueled this discontent. Some players feel the focus on a future event overshadows the need to acknowledge and address the present challenges facing Destiny 2. The community is eager for Bungie to directly address these concerns and work towards improving the overall player experience. The 2024 Festival of the Lost's Wizard armor, initially unavailable, will be released during Episode Heresy.
