"Dreadmoor: New PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

By JackMay 21,2025

Developer Dream Dock has unveiled Dreadmoor, an eagerly anticipated first-person single-player action-adventure game inspired by the 2023 sensation Dredge. In Dreadmoor, players will take the helm of a fishing trawler and embark on a journey through the post-apocalyptic Drownlands. This world, reshaped by a global nuclear war, features continents submerged beneath the waves, replaced by scattered islands and the ruins of ancient civilizations. The gameplay involves fishing, exploring, battling monstrous creatures, crafting essential items, upgrading your boat, and unraveling the mysteries that shroud this haunting environment. Dreadmoor is currently in development for PC. Be sure to watch the announcement trailer and browse through the first screenshots in the gallery below to get a glimpse of what awaits.

Dream Dock describes Dreadmoor as follows: "Step behind the helm of a fishing trawler and set sail into a world where, after a global nuclear war, continents have sunk beneath the waves, replaced by scattered islands and submerged ruins of ancient civilizations. Sell your catch to survivors, complete quests, and move one step closer to survival. Keep an eye on your ship’s cargo hold—creatures might devour each other! Upgrade your ship and craft equipment to explore hidden depths and secret locations. Mutated creatures and sinister mysteries lie hidden in the deep and within abandoned structures, especially at night. Beware of radiation, as the danger is even greater out there…"

The game encourages players to scavenge for resources and explore both the surface and the depths below.
