Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction on participants. This limited access test, running from February 14th to 17th, is exclusively available to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 users. Applications are currently open.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, FromSoftware surprised fans with the announcement of Nightreign. The anticipation surrounding this spin-off is immense, exceeding even the initial hype surrounding Elden Ring itself. This is despite FromSoftware previously stating there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC after the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
The Nightreign network test, announced on January 10th, serves as a crucial step in verifying online systems through large-scale network load tests. Participants will experience a portion of the game, allowing developers to assess performance and stability. PC players are unfortunately excluded from this initial test, although the final game will support the platform.
Nightreign represents a significant departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-operative gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While the release date remains unannounced, the network test suggests a full launch is imminent. More information is expected soon.
