Remedy Entertainment has set the stage for an exciting summer with the announcement of the release date for FBC: Firebreak, scheduled for June 17, 2025. This new title is a session-based, multiplayer PvE game that immerses players in the captivating universe of Control. In FBC: Firebreak, players will embark on replayable missions, dubbed Jobs, each presenting unique challenges, objectives, and dynamic environments that demand teamwork and adaptability.
FBC: Firebreak will launch on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Excitingly, it will be available on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium tiers). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the release.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which retails for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium package includes an array of exclusive cosmetics and voice packs, enhancing the player's customization options. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7.
The FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition offers:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
The game introduces the Requisitions system, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added, it's available indefinitely.
For those seeking further customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These can be purchased with real money but have no impact on gameplay and will remain available permanently. For more details on how Requisitions work, click here.
Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and additional updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free for all players. While cosmetics can be purchased, they won't affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-in incentives.
This release comes during a bustling period for Remedy, which is also developing Control 2 and a compilation of remakes for Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
