Formovie Episode One Projector: Affordable Excellence Unveiled

By AidenJul 31,2025

At Droid Gamers, we encounter a variety of gadgets, but a projector is a rare treat. The Formovie Episode One, with its potential to display mobile games on a larger screen, piqued our interest as a device worth exploring.

Designed for those mindful of budgets—where projectors often carry a hefty price tag—the Episode One delivers admirably, despite minor drawbacks.

Unboxing reveals the projector, a remote (batteries not included), a power cable, and a manual. It has a reassuring weight but lacks the premium heft of pricier models.

Its portability shines, weighing just three pounds, making it easy to carry anywhere.

Port selection may disappoint some, offering only one USB-A, one HDMI, and a single audio jack. For its price, though, this meets most users’ needs adequately.

Performance-wise, the Episode One holds its own for the cost. With 150 ISO lumens, it’s not the brightest laser projector available.

It struggled in bright sunlight during our tests but excelled in darker settings, as expected.

Every movie, show, or streamed game we tested displayed crisply, performing reliably.

For optimal visuals, position the projector at least 10 feet from the screen. The audio output, while functional, is lackluster due to a tinny built-in speaker.

An external speaker is highly recommended to enhance the Episode One’s audio experience.

The user interface stands out as a strength. Setup is intuitive, and its streamlined, budget-conscious design makes it more user-friendly than some pricier alternatives we’ve tested.

Overall, the Formovie Episode One is an ideal entry-level projector. It doesn’t excel in any single area but offers solid performance for casual users.

Purchase an Episode One projector by May 27th to receive a Netflix gift card (worth $15/€15). Click here to learn more.
