F-Zero Climax on Switch Online

Get ready to experience the thrill of high-speed futuristic racing with the arrival of F-Zero Climax and F-Zero: GP Legend on October 11, 2024! Nintendo's announcement brings these beloved Game Boy Advance titles to the Expansion Pack, offering a blast from the past for racing fans.

F-Zero GP Legend on Switch Online

F-Zero, a franchise celebrated for pushing the boundaries of console technology, first debuted in Japan over 30 years ago. Known for its intense speed and competitive gameplay, it's influenced other racing games like SEGA's Daytona USA. The series features iconic gameplay—racing against opponents in souped-up "F-Zero machines," navigating treacherous tracks, and battling for the finish line. Captain Falcon, the series' protagonist, even makes appearances in Super Smash Bros.

F-Zero: GP Legend, initially released in Japan in 2003 and internationally in 2004, joins the lineup alongside the previously Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax, which launched in 2004. F-Zero Climax marks a significant addition, having been unavailable outside Japan for nearly two decades. Its inclusion follows the release of the Switch's F-Zero 99 last year. Game designer Takaya Imamura has cited the success of Mario Kart as a contributing factor to the F-Zero series' hiatus.

This October 2024 update to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack delivers both titles, allowing subscribers to compete in various modes including Grand Prix, story mode, and time trials.
