Genshin Impact 5.7 Launches with Skirk and Dahlia

HoYoverse has officially announced Genshin Impact's next major update, Version 5.7, "A Space and Time for You," launching on June 18. This release introduces new playable characters, advances the main storyline, introduces a fresh combat mode, and a tactical mini-game developed by the Sumeru Akademiya.

Skirk Makes Her Grand Entrance in Genshin Impact Version 5.7!

Skirk is an enigmatic character with profound connections to the Abyss, primarily known as the reclusive mentor of Tartaglia. Her gameplay is distinctive, featuring two interchangeable combat stances and a unique mechanic named Serpent’s Subtlety.

Joining her is Dahlia, a new 4-star Hydro character who serves as the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. His abilities are focused on a supportive role. The first phase of Version 5.7 will feature Skirk and Dahlia, alongside a rerun of the Cryo character Shenhe. The update's second phase will see the return of the Pyro Archon, Mavuika, and the Fontaine character Emilie.

What's Next for the Story?

The narrative continues directly from the conclusion of the "Bedtime Story" questline. As the Abyss Order initiates new movements within Natlan, the Traveler's journey with their sibling intensifies amidst rising tensions. Mavuika and her forces are preparing for conflict, while Dainsleif emerges in a new capacity to aid the Traveler on the battlefield.

In a separate event, the Sumeru Akademiya is launching a simulated adventure that blends strategic choices with random encounters. Participants will form a team of Companion Pieces and select one of two exploration paths: the rainforest or the desert.

Version 5.7 also introduces a new permanent endgame mode, Stygian Onslaught. This challenge features three rotating bosses and six escalating difficulty levels. Successful completion rewards players with Artifacts and a new resource, Dust of Enlightenment, which allows for the re-rolling of substats on max-level Artifacts.

Finally, a new slice-of-life series, "Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter," will be added, offering a assortment of lighthearted vignettes from across Teyvat. Characters including Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori will be featured in their own short stories.
