Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: How To Get Effects Of Two Outfits Simultaneously

Mastering Dual Outfit Effects in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the benefits of multiple outfits, leveraging a powerful gameplay mechanic.

Remastered Version Required

The dual outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, allowing you to retain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another. This eliminates the need to sacrifice appearance for optimal stats.

Outfit Requirements

This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you possess, the second (for visual appearance only) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, found in the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)

Note: Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.

Obtaining Banuk Werak Outfits

Banuk Werak Runner

After reaching the Frozen Wilds (by defeating the initial machine), locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) to purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Chieftain Adept

The superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit is rewarded upon completing the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). Consider lowering the difficulty if needed. The Adept version is obtained similarly, but only in New Game+.

Combining Outfit Effects

Equip your desired outfit (with desired stats, potentially enhanced via Weaves). Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these offer no additional stats, they provide a crucial auto-healing effect after taking damage.

This strategy allows you to maintain your preferred stats while benefiting from the auto-heal. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver creates a near-invincible character. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits offer significantly faster healing than the Runner.
