While you begin with basic equipment, the game offers opportunities to acquire more powerful weapons tailored to your preferred playstyle. This game blends roguelike and extraction game elements, resulting in a unique approach to gear acquisition. Here's how to obtain new weapons:

Acquiring New Weapons in Overgrowths

Explore Overgrowths to discover new gear. While exploration naturally yields new items, focusing on sword or pistol icons on the map will lead you directly to Blades (melee weapons) and Rails (ranged weapons), respectively. Blades offer diverse movesets and abilities, while Rails feature unique functionalities. Both weapon types come in varying rarities, with gold being the most powerful. Rarity directly correlates with weapon stats, as is common in loot-based games. To save weapons for later runs, press the Cache button instead of Equip to add them to your stash. You can then equip them before starting your next run.

Obtaining New Starting Weapons

Beyond discovering weapons during runs, you can purchase new starting weapons from merchants at the Cursed Outpost. Initially, only the Blades merchant is accessible. To unlock the Rails merchant, gather sufficient materials to repair their shop. Merchants have limited stock, but their inventories refresh periodically. If you don't find what you're looking for immediately, check back later.

Weapon Upgrades

Upgrade your weapons at the Outpost merchants, but first, you must unlock the upgrade function by increasing your affinity with the merchants. This requires Golden Rations, a rare resource obtained through exploration or cycle resets. Use these rations wisely, as they are difficult to acquire.
