Portal Games Digital has released a digital adaptation of their popular board game, Imperial Miners, for Android devices. This card game centers around strategic mine construction and expansion. The company has a history of bringing similar titles to Android, including Neuroshima Convoy, Imperial Settlers: Roll & Write, and Tides of Time.
Imperial Miners, designed by Tim Armstrong (known for Arcana Rising and Orbis), features artwork by Hanna Kuik (whose credits include Batman: Everybody Lies and Dune: House Secrets).
Gameplay Overview:
Players manage underground excavations, aiming to create the most efficient mine through careful card play. Starting at the surface, players delve deeper, collecting Crystals and filled Carts to accumulate Victory Points. The game utilizes a unique system where each played card activates its effect and triggers those above it. Six distinct factions offer diverse strategic combinations.
The 10-round gameplay incorporates dynamic Events that can significantly impact a player's strategy. Three randomly selected Progress boards from a set of six provide additional strategic options, ensuring high replayability.
