This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
Fans anticipated that Revenge of the Sith would showcase Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A key plot point was the fate of the other Jedi, resolved by the infamous Order 66. This was Emperor Palpatine's sinister scheme where Clone Troopers, who had previously fought alongside the Jedi during the Clone Wars, suddenly turned against them, executing nearly all Jedi. Given the thousands of Jedi in service at the time, it was plausible that some would escape this purge—beyond the few known survivors essential to the Original Trilogy's narrative.
Among the numerous Order 66 survivors introduced in the canon Star Wars universe, we have compiled a list of the top 10 who have left a significant mark. These Jedi, ranging from Padawans to Jedi Masters, and even young Initiates, all managed to survive the initial onslaught of Order 66. Some lived on briefly, while others thrived for years, with a few whose fates remain undisclosed. They all endured long enough to fight another day after Palpatine's chilling command to "Execute Order 66."
For this ranking, we considered only those who were officially part of the Jedi Order before Order 66. This excludes Force-sensitive individuals like Maul and Palpatine, as well as untrained Force users such as Jod Na Nawood, who never joined the Jedi Order or visited the Jedi Temple.
There was some debate over whether Asajj Ventress should be included. Although trained by Jedi Master Ky Narec on Rattatak and considered his Padawan, she never met the Jedi Council or other Jedi during her training. Her subsequent allegiance to the Dark Side as Dooku's apprentice complicates her status. Thus, she is listed as an honorable mention.
