Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the Dead by Daylight survivor roster, Behaviour Interactive has confirmed! This highly anticipated addition follows recent chapters featuring Vecna and Chucky, solidifying Dead by Daylight's reputation for including beloved characters from various gaming franchises.
The news, which puts an end to long-standing speculation, comes just over a month after the release of Chapter 32: Dungeons & Dragons. Lara Croft, a character who defined a generation of gamers since her 1996 debut, will bring her legendary survival skills to the Entity's Realm.
Dead by Daylight: Lara Croft launches across all platforms on July 16th, with early access for PC players via a Steam public test build. While a trailer showcasing her in-game abilities and perks remains unreleased, PC gamers will be the first to experience the "ultimate survivor" firsthand. Lara's in-game model will be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.

Behaviour Interactive also used their recent 8th-anniversary livestream to announce several exciting additions to Dead by Daylight: a new 2v8 mode pitting two Killers against eight Survivors; a Frank Stone spin-off in collaboration with Supermassive Games (creators of The Quarry); and a fresh Castlevania chapter slated for release later this year.
The announcement coincides with renewed interest in Lara Croft, fueled by Aspyr's recent release of the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection and a PS5 port of Tomb Raider: Legend (though the latter has received mixed reception). Adding to the excitement, a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, featuring Hayley Atwell as Lara's voice, is set to premiere in October 2024.
