League of Legends: Atakhan Deep Dive

Atakhan: League of Legends' New Neutral Objective

Atakhan, the "Bringer of Ruin," is League of Legends' newest neutral objective, joining Baron Nashor and Elemental Dragons. Introduced as part of the Noxus Invasion for Season 1 of 2025, Atakhan is unique because his spawn location and form are dynamically determined by in-game events. This adds a layer of unpredictability and strategic depth to each match.

Atakhan's Spawn Time and Location

  • Spawn Time: Atakhan always spawns at the 20-minute mark, pushing Baron Nashor's spawn to the 25-minute mark.

  • Pit Location: Atakhan's Pit appears at the 14-minute mark in the river. Its location (Top or Bot lane side) depends on which side accumulated more damage and kills in the early game. This provides teams a 6-minute window to strategize. The Pit features two permanent small walls, intensifying combat.

Atakhan's Forms and Buffs

Atakhan manifests in one of two forms, determined by early-game activity:

  • Voracious Atakhan (Low-Action Games): Rewards players with a focus on combat.

    • Gold Bonus: +40 gold per champion takedown (kills and assists) for the entire game.
    • Death Mitigation: A one-time effect lasting 150 seconds. Instead of dying, affected champions enter a 2-second stasis before returning to base after 3.5 seconds. The killing blow results in 100 gold and 1 Blood Petal for the enemy team.
  • Ruinous Atakhan (High-Action Games): Rewards players with a scaling buff focused on objective control.

    • Epic Monster Buff: A 25% increase to all Epic Monster rewards (including previously slain objectives) for the remainder of the game.
    • Blood Petals: Each team member receives 6 Blood Petals.
    • Blood Rose Plants: 6 large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants spawn around the Pit, providing additional stat boosts upon destruction.

Blood Roses and Petals

Blood Roses, a new plant type, spawn near champion deaths and Atakhan's Pit, with additional spawns after Ruinous Atakhan is defeated. These plants grant Blood Petals upon destruction:

  • Blood Petals: Provide 25 XP (potentially increased by up to 100% for players with low K/D/A) and 1 Adaptive Force (AD or AP).

  • Plant Types:

    • Small Blood Roses: Grant 1 Blood Petal.
    • Large Blood Roses: Grant 3 Blood Petals.
