"MageTrain: Fast-Paced Pixel Roguelike Now on Android"

Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling, fast-paced pixel art game for Android enthusiasts called MageTrain. If you're a fan of Nimble Quest, MageTrain will feel instantly familiar as it draws significant inspiration from it.

What’s MageTrain Like?

MageTrain is a unique blend of the classic Snake game, auto-battlers, and roguelikes. In this game, you command a line of heroes that trail behind you, snake-like, automatically attacking as you navigate through an arena. Your role is to strategically manage the positioning of your heroes to maximize their effectiveness and avoid crashing into enemies or obstacles. The placement of each hero in the line affects their abilities, adding a layer of strategy to who leads and who supports.

At launch, MageTrain offers nine diverse heroes, including one who uniquely throws birds. Each hero possesses different skills depending on their position in the train. You'll journey through eight distinct dungeons, confront 28 types of enemies, and harness 30 skills to strengthen your team. Along the way, you'll collect gold and power-ups to enhance your gameplay experience.

Thanks to its roguelike structure, every run in MageTrain is unique. You'll navigate branching paths, make strategic upgrade choices, and strive to survive as long as possible. This setup is reminiscent of games like Slay the Spire or FTL, where there are no fixed levels and no option to save your progress; if you fail, you start over. But don't worry, each run helps you improve your skills and strategy.
