Following August's Young Avengers season, Marvel Snap (Free) swings into a new season themed around everyone's favorite web-slinger: Amazing Spider-Season! While Bonesaw might be absent this time, exciting new cards and locations await. Let's dive in!

This season introduces "Activate," a novel card ability. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate allows players to trigger a card's effect at any point during their turn, bypassing effects that target "On Reveal" abilities. The Season Pass card cleverly utilizes this new mechanic. For a visual introduction to the season, check out the video below:

The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man (4-Cost, 6-Power), boasts an Activate ability that absorbs the lowest-cost card at its location and copies its text, even re-triggering "On Reveal" effects. Expect this card to be a game-changer, and potentially a target for future balance adjustments.

Let's examine the other additions:

  • Silver Sable: (1-Cost, 1-Power) Her "On Reveal" ability steals two power from the top card of your opponent's deck. A solid card on its own, and even more potent in specific deck combinations.

  • Madame Web: Her Ongoing ability lets you move one card at her location to another location once per turn.

  • Arana: (1-Cost, 1-Power) Another Activate card, she moves the next card you play to the right and grants it +2 Power. A likely staple in move-focused decks.

  • Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): (4-Cost, 5-Power) His Activate ability spawns an identical clone at another location. Amplify his power, then double the effect!

Two new locations join the fray:

  • Brooklyn Bridge: A classic Spider-Man location with a unique twist: you can't place cards there on consecutive turns. Strategic placement is key.

  • Otto's Lab: Similar to Otto Octavius himself, the next card played here pulls a card from your opponent's hand onto the location.

This season delivers intriguing cards and the innovative Activate ability, promising exciting new strategic possibilities. Our September deck guide will be available soon to help you navigate this exciting new meta. Share your thoughts on the new season and your favorite cards in the comments below!
