Insomniac discussed its ambitious future for the studio but remained tight-lipped about progress on the eagerly awaited Marvel’s Wolverine. In an interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern explained that while the team is diving into exciting new projects with an aggressive roadmap, they are staying focused on current commitments—and are not yet prepared to reveal release specifics. He neither confirmed nor denied a 2025 launch for Marvel’s Wolverine.

Marvel’s Wolverine: First Revealed in 2021

Marvel’s Wolverine made its debut during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021. Insomniac presented the game with a cinematic teaser and confirmed it is in development exclusively for PlayStation 5.

During a 2023 interview with the YouTube channel Kinda Funny, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar was questioned about Marvel’s Wolverine. Intihar verified that the game shares the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, clarifying, "they’re all in 1048." Following the dual announcement at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, fans had anticipated crossover teases or shared content. So far, the only reference has been a Wolverine-inspired suit named "The Best There Is," which Miles Morales can equip in
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In December 2023, Insomniac Games fell victim to a ransomware attack that temporarily exposed development materials and gameplay footage of Marvel’s Wolverine to the public.

Insomniac Games’ Ongoing Initiatives

Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to launch on PC on January 30, 2025, as revealed during New York Comic-Con. Insomniac aims to quell speculation about future DLC, stating there is "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2." That said, the PC version will incorporate all updates released since the PS5 debut—such as new suits, New Game+, and more. The PC launch includes two editions: Standard and Digital Deluxe, the latter offering exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
