Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced their titles' return for the 2025 edition. Garena's Free Fire was an early confirmation, and now Moonton has officially confirmed the return of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

The 2024 Esports World Cup featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments attracted teams from around the globe to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (ending their 25-game win streak) to claim the Women's Invitational title.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear set to return in 2025. However, a notable observation is the relative scale of the featured tournaments. The inclusion of a mid-season cup as MLBB's main event might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary competition.

This has a dual interpretation. It's positive in that the EWC avoids overshadowing established leagues. Conversely, it could be perceived as a secondary tournament, playing second fiddle to the main MLBB events.

Regardless of this perspective, fans of MLBB will undoubtedly welcome its return to this prestigious tournament. For those intrigued by MLBB, a ranking of the game's top-tier characters is readily available.
