Capcom has rolled out an exciting new feature in Monster Hunter Wilds, allowing players to customize their hunter and Palico appearances with greater flexibility. However, this comes with a twist: while the first edit is complimentary, any subsequent modifications require the purchase of Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers are available in packs of three for just $6, or you can opt for a bundled set for both your hunter and Palico for $10. Without these vouchers, you're limited to tweaking hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, leaving core facial features untouched.

Surprisingly, this monetization model wasn't highlighted during the game's initial previews leading up to its full release. Capcom only announced it last week through their social media channels. Despite sparking debates around microtransactions and performance issues, Monster Hunter Wilds has shattered records, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.
As of now, Capcom has remained silent on the player feedback concerning this new approach. The community's reaction has been largely negative, with many feeling that the introduction of paid customization strays too far from the series' roots. Fans fondly remember the days when appearance changes were either free or could be earned through in-game currency. This shift is seen by many as a departure from a core feature that once defined the Monster Hunter experience.
