Morikomori Life: New Social, Rural Sim with Ghibli Art

Morikomori Life has officially launched on Android and iOS, but currently, it's only available in Japan. This charming rural farm life simulation game is brought to you by Realfun Studio. Interestingly, it was initially released in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, but the Chinese version was discontinued about a year ago.

The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back

One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its captivating visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the cozy essence of rural living with anime-inspired, specifically Ghibli-style art. These aren't the generic AI-generated visuals; the scenes truly resemble frames from a Studio Ghibli film.

The game's narrative follows Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, inviting her to visit the village of Komori where she spent her childhood. Upon her return, Kaon embarks on a journey to rediscover the joys of a peaceful life. The 3D toon shading of Komori brings the serene Japanese countryside to life in a way that feels authentic and inviting.

Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living

At its core, Morikomori Life is all about embracing the slow-paced, slice-of-life activities. Players can engage in farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even building their own homes. The game encourages exploration, allowing you to chop wood, mine for ore, and discover rare materials scattered throughout the landscape.

As you gather resources, you'll unlock various upgrades for your house and enrich your lifestyle. You can customize Kaon's appearance to suit your style, meet and befriend villagers, cook meals from foraged ingredients, and lend a hand with odd jobs around the village.

Morikomori Life also offers character customization that reflects your personality and an open-world setting where you can freely explore and encounter delightful surprises. The game is available on Android in Japan via the Google Play Store. There's no confirmation yet on a global release, so keep an eye out for future announcements.
