Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is hosting a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to combat real-world environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players will fight pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world cleanup efforts.
Fighting Pollution, Virtually and In Real Life
Terra's Legacy merges virtual gameplay with real-world action. Players identify polluted locations in their area via Orna, submitting them to the developers. These locations become in-game "Gloomsites," represented by battles against the Murk, a pollution-themed enemy. Defeating the Murk raises awareness and allows players to plant virtual trees and Gaia apples in the corresponding real-world locations. These apples can then be used to customize characters and enhance their abilities, with the added benefit of other players being able to harvest them. The more players participate, the greater the impact, both in-game and in the real world.
