Overwatch 2 Unveils Exclusive China Events

Overwatch 2 is making a grand comeback in China on February 19, bringing along a host of rewards and events for players. From Seasons 1 to 9, Chinese players will have the opportunity to earn Battle Pass rewards and enjoy thrilling in-game events. The anticipation is building as Season 15 approaches, featuring skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology—though details remain scarce.

After a hiatus since Season 2, Overwatch 2 recently hosted a technical test from January 8 to 15, allowing fans to experience most of the missing content, including Overwatch: Classic and newly released heroes. As the full launch looms closer, the game promises an array of exciting features for the Chinese community.

Aaron Keller, Overwatch 2’s game director, shared that a multi-week celebration will reintroduce beloved events and rewards missed over the past two years. Additionally, players can anticipate earning Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 prior to the relaunch, with Seasons 3 through 9 accessible through in-game events afterward.

Chinese Mythology – The Theme for Season 15?

Season 15 will spotlight skin bundles rooted in Chinese mythology. While it remains unclear whether these skins are existing designs or entirely new creations, or if they'll be exclusive to China, fans eagerly await further announcements. Overwatch 2 Season 15 is slated to kick off on February 18, just before the official relaunch in China.

In the meantime, players can dive into Min 1, Max 3—the second 6v6 test—starting January 21 until February 4, with the classic 2-2-2 team composition available until then. Lunar New Year and Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic events are also on the horizon, offering additional excitement leading up to Season 15. Although Chinese players cannot participate in these global events, they can look forward to special festivities tailored just for them.
