Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration Returns! Get Ready for Festive Fun!
Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event brings themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, this New Year's event offers a fresh wave of festivities.
One of the event's highlights is the chance to earn a whopping 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw! Enjoy the immersive atmosphere with festive decorations and fireworks lighting up the sky.
Expect increased appearances of special, themed Pokémon, including a ribbon-adorned Jigglypuff, a New Year's outfit-wearing Hoothoot, and a party-hat-sporting Wurmple. Keep an eye out – their Shiny forms might even make an appearance!
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids star party-hat-clad Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are boosted during the event.
For those who prefer quests, Field Research and Timed Research tasks offer numerous Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) provides exclusive rewards, including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
