Pokémon TCG Pocket Surpasses Major Download Milestone, Unveils New Expansion

Despite a somewhat rocky launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket has evolved into a massive hit with players. Its popularity is clearly shown by this latest achievement: over 150 million downloads globally! For the many players already enjoying the game, there's even more exciting news about the upcoming expansion.

Named Mega Rising, this expansion launches on October 30th and is set to significantly expand the world of Pokémon TCG Pocket. The headline addition is the introduction of Mega-Evolved Pokémon, accompanied by a full new series of cards. Three special booster packs will debut alongside it: the Mega Gyarados Pack, the Mega Blaziken Pack, and the Mega Altaria Pack.

A new card-sharing feature is also rolling out this month. Starting October 30th, you can gift between one and four rarity cards to your friends. This feature allows you to send one card per day and also receive one in return.

Enhanced Trading

Significant updates are also coming to the core trading system. In addition to one-to-four rarity cards and one-star rarity cards being tradeable, the platform will now allow trading for two-star rarity cards and Shiny 1 to Shiny 2 cards.

The Wonder Pick feature is receiving adjustments too. Cards from the latest expansion that you haven't collected yet will appear more frequently. Furthermore, the number of copies you own of each card will now be displayed during a Wonder Pick session. These thoughtful changes address some of the community's feedback on these popular features.
