Until the arrival of its successor, the Arctis Nova Pro, the Arctis Pro was the pinnacle of SteelSeries' gaming headset lineup. It includes several premium features not commonly found elsewhere, such as a dedicated control hub with a volume dial and OLED display, the ability to connect via Bluetooth and 2.4GHz WiFi simultaneously, and its standout feature: the hot-swappable battery system. The package comes with two batteries—one powers the headset while the other recharges in the dock—ensuring you can game wirelessly without any downtime for charging.
The Arctis Pro showcases the exceptional build quality SteelSeries is known for. Its headband utilizes a lightweight steel and aluminum alloy frame, while the suspended head strap offers outstanding comfort for extended play sessions. The ear cushions are made from a breathable AirWeave fabric, which many users find more comfortable than the synthetic leather used on the Nova Pro, as it reduces heat and sweat buildup. The ClearCast retractable boom microphone tucks away neatly when not needed. Audio performance is superb, driven by large 40mm speakers that deliver powerful, clear sound with minimal distortion. The headset also offers various EQ presets and the option to create a custom profile.
SteelSeries Arctis Pro Review by Matt Elliot
"The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless combines premium construction, a comfortable fit, and exceptional audio quality. Its innovative swappable battery design means you're never without power. While the sound is impressive, I'd give a slight performance edge to the wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC model, which is also very comfortable, versatile, and about $70 less expensive. Alternatively, you could save significantly more by choosing the wireless Arctis 7, which costs less than half the price."
The Arctis Pro was succeeded by the Arctis Nova Pro in 2022. A brand-new pair of Nova Pro headsets currently retails for around $300 on Amazon. Although it's an excellent headset with positive reviews and notable upgrades like active noise cancellation and USB-C charging, it's difficult to justify paying nearly twice the price of the still-capable Arctis Pro.
