- January 24th, 2025: The game's servers will be permanently shut down. Existing players will no longer be able to access the game after this date.
EA expressed gratitude to its players for their decade-long support. The collaboration with The Simpsons and Disney allowed for a unique and enduring city-building experience.
One Last Chance to Experience Springfield?
For those unfamiliar with the game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out lets players rebuild Springfield after Homer's disastrous mishap. Players manage characters like Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and even Fat Tony, customizing Springfield to their liking. Features include expanding to Springfield Heights and managing the Kwik-E-Mart.
The game is freemium, offering regular updates tied to the show and holidays. While the game itself is free, in-game "donuts" are a key element of progression. In-app purchases have already been disabled.
