Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other games, has shared a touching message during his recovery after being discovered "barely alive" in his hotel room last week.
A video from Johnson was uploaded to a GoFundMe page, which has currently raised $174,653 toward medical expenses and covering bills. The post revealed that Johnson had been in a coma following the incident.
"There’s a lot of love in this world that I didn’t realize existed, and I’m grateful to all of you," Johnson expressed in the video.
The voice actor and Washington Capitals announcer was in Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation when concerns arose after he failed to appear. His wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel, and security entered with emergency medical technicians who initially struggled to detect a pulse.

"Rumors of my demise... weren’t exaggerated," Johnson admitted. "It was very close, very close. But I’m still here because my wife called the hotel where I was announcing for the Alzheimer’s Association, and she had my son contact security. They found me nearly lifeless."
He continued, "They took me to the hospital and put me in a coma. I stayed there for five days until I learned about the GoFundMe campaign organized by my wonderful friends Bill Glasser, Shari Elliker, and Kim. That’s when I realized just how much love exists in this world, and I’m deeply thankful."
Johnson expressed gratitude to the National Alzheimer’s Association for arranging travel and accommodations for his family, thanked Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals parent company, for donating $25,000, and extended his appreciation to Glasser and Elliker.
He also acknowledged Bethesda, who offered their support via social media after hearing about his situation. "You’ve always been my friends, and I’ll always consider you as such," he said. "Love you guys." Additionally, he expressed gratitude to his fans, whether they contributed financially or showed encouragement through other means. "I’m not going anywhere," Johnson assured.
"It will take time to fully recover, but I’m determined to return. I look forward to reconnecting and sharing more moments with all of you. Cheers."
In addition to his extensive video game career, Johnson has appeared in various films and TV shows. His notable gaming roles include voicing Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, multiple Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, and many others.
