Get Ready for Sonic Mania! Sega Unveils Major Mobile Game Updates Tied to Sonic the Hedgehog 3
With the highly anticipated release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 just around the corner, Sega is treating fans to a flurry of exciting updates across its popular mobile Sonic titles. From Apple Arcade's Sonic Dream Team to Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces (available on the App Store and Google Play), these updates deliver fresh content directly inspired by the upcoming movie.
First up, Sonic Forces receives a major update on December 12th, introducing a brand-new Metro-city Zone. This thrilling addition features three challenging tracks, playable as Movie Shadow, Movie Sonic, and other beloved characters. Experience the action before seeing the film!
Next, on December 18th, Sonic Dream Team gets its own update, adding Shadow the Hedgehog as a playable character with unique abilities. Unlock him by tackling the Tails’ Challenges. Shadow’s Chaos Control and Chaos Shift powers allow for time manipulation, freezing foes and the environment to overcome obstacles.
This update also introduces new powers like Quick Grind and Perfect Boost for all characters, alongside exclusive upgrades, including Double Chaos Shift, for Shadow. Six new Shadow-themed statues and music tracks are added, plus a revamped tutorial for new players.
And the fun doesn't stop there! Sonic Dash's update arrives on December 20th, offering players the chance to collect cards to unlock Movie Shadow and Movie Sonic. Daily challenges provide extra rewards to keep the excitement going. Sonic Dash+ on Apple Arcade will receive its own Shadow-themed update in January.
