Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed—a free-to-play battle royale game—to both subscribers and non-subscribers, is now further incentivized with rewards for watching Season 2.
What's in store for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game "Mingle" launches. New playable avatars—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos unlock via special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. And for those watching the show, in-game Cash and Wild Tokens are earned by watching episodes of Squid Game Season 2! Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit.
Here's the January content roadmap for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: The Mingle map arrives, along with Geum-Ja. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) challenges players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos joins the fray, with his own recruitment event, "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge." Players earn Thanos by eliminating opponents using knives (event runs until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik becomes the final character addition in this update.
