Stellar Blade PC Port Teased

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port release. While the game initially launched as a PS5 exclusive due to its partnership with Sony, its strong sales and critical acclaim (topping US sales charts in its launch month and boasting an 82 average OpenCritic rating) have fueled discussions about expanding its reach.

During a recent IPO press conference, Shift Up's CEO, Kim Hyung-Tae, stated that a PC port is under consideration, though a firm timeline remains uncertain due to existing contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn added that the increasing popularity of AAA titles on PC is a key factor in their consideration, believing a PC port would significantly enhance the IP's value.

Strong Indications for a PC Port

Shift Up's previous financial report already indicated interest in both a Stellar Blade sequel and a PC release of the original game. Combined with the CEO and CFO's recent comments, this suggests a PC port is highly likely. This aligns with Sony's growing trend of bringing its exclusive titles to PC, as evidenced by the upcoming PC release of God of War: Ragnarok.

While the decision on a PC port remains pending, Shift Up is focused on optimizing the PS5 experience. Recent updates, however, introduced some graphical glitches, which the developer is actively working to resolve.
