Recent reports indicate a potential April 2025 launch for Nintendo's Switch 2, while Nintendo maintains its focus on the current Switch model's continued success.
Next Year Could Bring a "Summer of Switch 2"
Developers Eyeing an April/May 2025 Launch
The much-anticipated Switch 2's release is reportedly slated for no earlier than April 2025. This prediction, shared by GamesIndustry.biz's Chris Dring, stems from conversations with game developers. These developers have been advised to not expect a launch within the current fiscal year (ending March 2025), with many hoping for an April or May release.
This projected launch window might aim to avoid competition with other major releases, such as the anticipated "GTA 6," rumored for a Fall 2025 release. Adding to the speculation, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe hinted at a pre-August Switch 2 announcement.
Nintendo has confirmed a Switch 2 announcement before the end of its current fiscal year (March 31, 2025), but these reports remain unverified due to Nintendo's official silence.
