Team Ninja Hints at Anniversary Celebration

Team Ninja Celebrates 30 Years with Ambitious 2025 Plans

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for action titles like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant projects for its 30th anniversary in 2025. Beyond its flagship franchises, the studio's recent successes include the Nioh series and collaborations with Square Enix on titles such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The critically acclaimed Rise of the Ronin (2024) further showcases Team Ninja's expanding portfolio.

According to Fumihiko Yasuda (via 4Gamer.net and Gematsu), Team Ninja aims to release titles befitting its anniversary milestone. While specifics remain undisclosed, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden series. Yasuda's statement, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," fuels anticipation among fans.

Team Ninja's 2025 Possibilities:

A significant development is the announced return of Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a side-scrolling title developed in collaboration with DotEmu, will blend classic 8-bit gameplay with modern enhancements, bridging the gap between the series' origins and its 3D iterations. This follows the divisive 2014 entry, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The Dead or Alive franchise, last updated with Dead or Alive 6 in 2019, is another strong contender for an anniversary release. Recent years have seen spin-offs like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet and Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme, but fans eagerly await a new mainline entry. The Nioh series also remains a possibility for further development. The coming year promises exciting announcements from Team Ninja.
