Warframe's TennoCon 2024: A Blast from the Past with Warframe: 1999

TennoCon 2024 delivered a knockout punch with the announcement of Warframe: 1999, a massive update promising a thrilling journey back to a Y2K-threatened alternate 1999. Get ready for a retro-futuristic adventure unlike any other!

A prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," launches in August 2024, reuniting players with a beloved Warframe character and setting the stage for the main event. This prologue, following "Whispers in the Walls," introduces the world of 1999 and the powerful Sevatgoth Prime Warframe and its exclusive weaponry. Completing "The Lotus Eaters" is a prerequisite for experiencing Warframe: 1999, slated for release in Winter 2024.

Warframe: 1999 plunges players into the Techrot-infested city of Höllvania, a vibrant 90s metropolis facing a deadly Y2K virus. Navigate this retro-dystopia using the new Atomicyles, futuristic vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and even explosive maneuvers. Command a team of six unique heroes, the Hex, each wielding a Protoframe – a Warframe showcasing the human pilot beneath.

Meet the Hex: Arthur (Excalibur), Aoi (Mag), Quincy (the new CYTE-09), and more, voiced by a star-studded cast including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Interact with them via in-game instant messaging for a truly authentic 90s experience.

Prepare to face a truly 90s antagonist: On-lyne, a boy band corrupted by the Technocyte Coda. Led by the charismatic Zeke (voiced by Nick Apostolides), this infectious enemy will test your skills. Their catchy hit single, "Party of Your Lifetime," is available now on all major streaming services.

Fashion is key in Warframe: 1999. Dual fashion frame loadouts allow for quick changes on the battlefield, and the introduction of Gemini Skins lets you bring the Protoframes, like Arthur and Aoi, into the Origin System with fully voiced lines.

Anime Arthur and Aoi

Beyond the main update, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE to create an anime short based on Warframe: 1999, launching later this year. High-fidelity Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (coming early 2025) round out the exciting announcements.

Get ready for Warframe: 1999 this Winter! Download Warframe now from the App Store and prepare for the ultimate retro-futuristic adventure.
