What Type of Game Is Ultraman Puzzle Shuwatch?
Ultraman Puzzle Shuwatch will be a match-3 puzzle game releasing globally on Android and iOS in 2025, excluding mainland China and EU member states.
The game's setting is the distant planet Milanos in outer space, featuring over 60 characters spanning Ultraman history - from classic Ultra Heroes to iconic kaiju across Showa to Reiwa eras. Players will encounter legendary figures like Ultraman, Ultraman Tiga Multi Type, Ultra Seven, Alien Baltan, Gomorrah, and Zetton. Development is handled collaboratively by Tsuburaya Group subsidiaries MetaField and StudioZ.
Six Decades of Ultra History
Since Ultraman's television debut in July 1966 through Ultra Q, the franchise has inspired generations with its messages of courage, hope and compassion. The 60th Anniversary Project will unfold across two and a half years through multiple initiatives including a new TV series, stage productions, digital content and merchandise alongside the mobile game.
The choice of a match-3 format may seem unconventional for this action-packed franchise, but its success remains to be seen. While no specific launch date is confirmed yet, fans can follow updates through the official website.
