The English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is coming soon. With just 10 days remaining until the release, the developers have shared a special announcement highlighting some features and updates that the international version will include.

Some features will be available right from the launch of the English Version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby!

Let’s start with the positive aspects. Landscape mode during races and a jukebox function will be accessible on day one. The developers are also planning to introduce quality-of-life improvements earlier than they were available in Japan.

An example is the Guided Career feature, which the Japanese version received only on its fourth anniversary. Additionally, cross-platform play will allow you to use the same account across both mobile and PC devices.

They are prioritizing speed in content delivery

While all events and Scouts from the Japanese version will be present in the global release, the main difference is the pace at which content will be released. There won’t be long intervals between events or banners as seen in the original game.

Instead, everything will happen more quickly, although each event and banner will have the same duration as they did in the Japanese version. This means you won’t need to rush through any single event, but there will also be no breaks between them.

So, what does this mean for players? If you've played JRPGs before, you understand the implication. A faster schedule means less time to save in-game currency between limited-time banners. So, if you prefer playing free-to-play, it could become more challenging to unlock characters without spending money.

Games like Heavens Burn Red addressed this by adjusting rewards for their global versions, but no such changes have been announced here. The absence of dead weeks also means fewer days to complete daily tasks and gather resources between events.

Only time will tell how this approach works out for the English Version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby and its long-term strategy. In the meantime, you can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
