Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide

Your adventure kicks off in the heart of town, right across from the Gun Store and Hospital, and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by ditching any excess loot and gearing up. A Rifle is a solid choice here, costing just $75, and it packs enough punch to fend off most foes, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to keep your boat's old-school engine running smoothly.

The next town is 10,000m away. Just fire up your boat and you're on your way. You can take detours to eliminate and loot Zombies and Drowned, but the houses along the route don't hold much value. To keep moving, simply add more coal to the engine. Ignore the worm on the right side for now. Wait until you reach the second safe zone to offload your goods, but stay vigilant against Big Foot and Zombie mobs along the riverbanks.

After hitting the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings swarming with mobs. If you're with friends, tackle them; otherwise, it's not worth the time due to the scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house teeming with Drowned but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use these resources wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks

By now, you're familiar with the cycle—kill, loot, repeat and hope the enemy suffers defeat. That's the essence of the game. To excel, focus on efficiency by using the boat as your primary inventory. Unload your bag onto the boat to save space and time.

A helpful strategy I discovered while crafting this guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. It's tempting to rush out of those backwater towns, but efficient loot management pays off. Running low on fuel? Toss a few Zombies in, and you're set.

Another tip: keep an eye on what's happening in the Sheriff's offices. They often harbor a high concentration of mobs, but also offer rewarding weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun loaded for extended periods by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.

Don't squander your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits before reaching the fortress at around 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it an easy target for ambushes. I recommend tackling this area with at least three others, ideally a full team of five. Be strategic when collecting loot.

Also, avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're tough, deal heavy damage, and consume a lot of ammo. Plan your stops wisely; loot isn't everything.

The town past 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. It's packed with at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies. If you have friends with Shotguns or a Sawnoff, it's an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel. Coordinate with your team to prepare the bodies for loading quickly.

How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails

In the final safe zone, sell everything you've collected and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned. Ensure you have a minimum of 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final leg of this guide. As you near 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to face the beast. The sign of its approach is the skies darkening.

When the Kraken emerges from the water, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle will attack if not properly repelled. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like formation and focus on individual tentacles.

Be cautious of the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back its tentacle, leaving a water trail. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which causes minor, unblockable damage and may slightly buff the boss. It's signaled by white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
