World of Warcraft's Detective Title Remains Accessible: A Guide to Finding Alyx and the Celebration Crates
World of Warcraft players can still earn the coveted Detective title and pursue the elusive Incognitro Felcycle mount, even after the 20th-anniversary event concluded. The key lies in locating Alyx, the Lightforged Draenei NPC, who has relocated to Dornogal.
Alyx, previously stationed at the anniversary event grounds, now resides in Dornogal, conveniently situated between the Delver's Headquarters and the Foundation Hall stairs. Their presence ensures continued access to the Celebration Crate questline, a crucial step in obtaining the Detective title.
Securing the Detective Title:
- Locate Alyx: Find Alyx in Dornogal. Check the area between the Delver's Headquarters and the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall.
- Gather Clues: Examine Alyx's board for clues detailing the locations of 11 missing Celebration Crates. Note that players must be level 10 to begin Celebration Crate quests, but level 68 is required to access Dornogal.
- Collect the Crates: Follow the clues to locate and collect all 11 crates.
- Claim Your Rewards: Return the crates to Alyx. Submitting six crates awards the "Crate Insurance Agent" achievement, while 11 crates unlock "No Crate Left Behind," "Azeroth's Greatest Detective," and, most importantly, the Detective title itself. This title is the prerequisite for beginning the Incognitro mount questline.
Post-Anniversary Accessibility:
While the main Guest Relations questline is unavailable, Blizzard's strategic relocation of Alyx ensures that players aren't locked out of obtaining the Detective title and the associated mount. This decision addresses concerns that the Detective title, and therefore the Incognitro mount, would become permanently inaccessible after the anniversary event's conclusion.
Unavailable Achievements:
Unfortunately, several achievements tied to the Guest Relations storyline, such as "Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager" and "I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats," are no longer attainable. The associated Thinking Cap transmog is also unobtainable. While a future update might introduce alternative methods to acquire these rewards, their current unavailability is a consequence of the event's conclusion.
