Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the year's gaming announcements. The showcase will air at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on YouTube and Twitch.
Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this January's event promises a fresh look at upcoming Xbox titles. While rumors circulated earlier in January, the official announcement confirms the date and reveals some of the featured games.
Confirmed Games:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is currently anticipated.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), first revealed in June 2023. A release date is expected.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
Previous Developer Directs have exceeded 40 minutes, showcasing multiple games. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, the 2025 showcase likely holds further unannounced surprises.
