A leaked Zenless Zone Zero update reveals a new Version 1.5 event featuring a Fall Guys-style multiplayer platformer game mode. This temporary event, tentatively titled "Grand Marcel," is expected to arrive alongside the late January update introducing Astra Yao and Evelyn.
Version 1.4 recently added two permanent battle-focused modes, but HoYoverse has a history of incorporating temporary, unique gameplay events. This platformer mode, according to leaker Palito, will offer distinct stages reminiscent of Fall Guys. While the leak showcases these stages, it remains unclear whether players will control their standard characters or the popular Bangboo. Rewards are anticipated to include Polychromes and additional free pulls, as previously rumored for Version 1.5.
This isn't HoYoverse's first foray into platformer events; Honkai Impact 3rd's 2022 "Midnight Chronicle" event similarly utilized Fall Guys-inspired gameplay. Players in that event controlled chibi versions of existing characters, suggesting a similar approach might be taken with Zenless Zone Zero, potentially featuring chibi Bangboo. The community has expressed a strong desire for increased Bangboo gameplay opportunities beyond the current Hollow Zero mode.
The Version 1.5 update, slated for January 22nd, will also introduce Astra Yao and Evelyn, along with a potential Nicole character skin and a possible Agent Story for Ellen, based on earlier leaks. The addition of this platformer event further enhances the anticipated content drop.
